Jeanne Steck is a self-taught jewelry artist. Her passion began after purchasing a beautiful necklace in New Orleans. Jeanne wanted earrings to match the oval iolite drop, so off she went to Wall Street Bead in Southampton, NY. The sales clerk helped her choose iolite teardrops and gave her a few pointers on wire wrapping.
Today Jeanne uses a variety of techniques to create jewelry designs that she loves to wear herself.
Jeanne collects beads whenever she or a family member travels. She often incorporates larimar and amber from the Dominican Republic. More recently Venetian glass has been brought back from Italy and fabulous lampwork glass from Vermont and New Hampshire.
You can find Jeanne and her designs at Southern Suds and Gifts,on South White St.in Downtown Wake Forest, The Rusted Hinge on E Vance St., in Downtown Zebulon and art and craft shows near Raleigh, North Carolina. She also returns to Long Island each spring and is available for small group showings and custom orders.
Ms. Steck is excited to announce her creations will be featured at The Vollmer Farm in Bun for their Fall Season>
